The new King and Queen of the Netherlands: Máxima’s royal blue gown.

On Queen’s Day, the now Princess Beatrix abdicated in favor of her son Willem-Alexander who is now the new King of the Netherlands along with his wife, Máxima. Since I have an undying love for Royals and Máxima wore GORGEOUS dress during the investiture ceremony, here’s a post to them. The fabulous royal blue gown was designed by Ducth designer Jan Taminiau, that apparently is a favorite of the new Queen.

This was a spectacular event, since I’ve never seen a coronation, investiture or anything like it, I really enjoyed it. While waiting for William and Kate’s wedding in 2011 I wrote a post about Máxima’s wedding dress, which was quite beautiful as well.

Congrats on your new King and Queen people of the Netherlands and for such a great event.

Lookbook: Elena Antoniades F/W 2013

A lookbook from London, this time by Elena Antoniades who brings for the next Fall/Winter season an elegant, classic and at the same time fun collection. She used different fabrics to give that one of a kind look to her designs. If there’s a way to make a simple design something really worth taking a second look, is this one.

Some of the designs have a little vintage-y look to me, (which I love). The use of prints is minimal, and as usual with a Fall/Winter collection there’s a lot of black, but there also some touches of color like purple, red, and some metallics as well. I really hope to see more of her designs around.

Carolina Herrera Bridal Fall/Winter 2013-2014

Carolina Herrera and her exquisite taste and designs couldn’t be anything short of spectacular for this bridal collection. Everything is extremely elegant, made for a red carpet kind of wedding. I love the embellishments, the details and the different fabrics she used. It’s a classic and very romantic collection, a very good source of inspiration for the traditional bride. Even the make-up is flawless.

Vera Wang Bridal Fall/Winter 2013-2014

Here comes Vera… again.

I honestly don’t know what else to say about Vera Wang‘s awesomeness when it comes to wedding gowns. I honestly believe each and everyone of her gowns is a piece of art, there are a million details to look at, and any bride lucky enough to wear one of these on their special day will certainly be the center of the attention. Forget the party, everyone will be too busy just looking at the dress.
