Spring/Summer 2014: Carolina Herrera @ NYFW

As a Venezuelan this collection was very exciting to see. Carolina Herrera got her inspiration for next season’s collection in the works of Venezuela’s kinetic artists Jesús Soto and Carlos Cruz-Diez. I repeat, this is fabulous!

Her designs are always feminine and modern, however what I love about this collection are obviously the prints. A genius work this one, bringing the kinetic effect into a piece a clothing, the fabric’s movements only improve the whole look since this is all about the visual effect.

A very fresh and elegant collection. I’m really excited to see who will dare to wear any of this designs on the red carpet. Can’t wait!

Spring/Summer 2014 – New York: Monique Lhuillier

Here’s Monique Lhuillier Spring/Summer 2014 gorgeous collection. I’m honeslty struggling here to write something different about her collections, but in short she’s just amazing. Love the colors, VERY springy, you can almost smell flowers when you look at the collection. Love the shapes, the details, everything! (Again).

The orange and fuchsia are just lovely by themselves, and here’s a sample of what happens when you mix them up, great results! There are also light colors, with touches of metallics, and a little tiny bit of earth colors as well. As usual the shapes and designs in general are very feminine and elegant, I see many potential red carpet designs, I can’t wait to see who’s going to wear them.

Spring/Summer 2014 – New York: Lela Rose

Lela Rose Spring/Summer 2014 collection is full of feminity and colors. Love the shapes, the prints, the designs, everything! I’m enjoying the fact that it has every day looks as well as party/red carpet looks.

There are a lot of details that make you take a second glance at the designs in the very best sense. This collection is supposed to make the woman wearing any of the designs stand out without making her look as if she’s begging for attention. Love the fabrics, specially the flowing ones, and those gorgeous hints of lace. Lovely!
